Here’s a great way to make Saturday or summer daily chores fun and exciting and change the way your kids feel about working around the home!
How It Works
Each child receives an envelope or pouch containing cards. On each of the cards there is a picture of the assigned chore. Children have a fun time pulling out their chore cards, spreading them out on the floor, and upon finishing the chore, they get to put the card back into the pouch. Not only do they know their chores everyday, but when the work is done, they can have free time to play!
Make It Fun
To mix it up a bit (and help out even more), include a mystery card. The mystery job can be something that doesn’t need to be done daily (e.g. mow lawn, wash windows, write in journal…be creative!).
Kids can also have races to see who can finish their cards the fastest. Set a timer and see if everyone can get all their cards back in their pouch before it beeps!
Another fun incentive would be to promise your children a trip out to lunch once everyone finishes their jobs.
What You Need
Each child will need a special pouch or envelope with their name on it. Make chore cards with things that need to be done around your home, or you can download and print ours from below. Cut the cards up, and make sure your child’s pouch is ready in the morning with all the chores you want him or her to do that day.
Your kids will find pleasure in getting their work done using this fun and simple plan, and you can be sure to have a tidy home with great helpers!
